First Lady of Virginia, the Honorable Anne Holton: Home Again
It was 1974 when Anne Holton, then a young teen, moved out of the Executive Mansion. She lived there with her three siblings and parents during her father, Governor A. Linwood Holton’s tenure as our chief executive. Today she repeats history by becoming the second daughter of a Virginia Governor to marry a man who became Governor. Unlike her predecessor Martha Jefferson Randolph, however, Anne Holton has the distinction of being the first one to live in the Executive Mansion during her father’s administration, and that of her husband.

REVIEW Review
New books that the amateur or serious Virginia historian should know about and have for their own library. A mixed collection of reference and fresh academic studies is a nice cornucopia to end 2006 with and prepare for the 400th Anniversary of the Founding of Jamestown.
