entrepreneurs may still be ill at ease about taking risks. But here in Virginia, it seems there’s no reason for concern considering the commitment to new and expanding businesses on the part of the state. The diversity of Virginia’s current businesses and the incentives offered to attract new business, continue to allow Virginia to remain a highly ranked state in which to run a business.
Matt Lanzer is the CFO of Prince George County based Service Center Metals.  He said he believes that Virginia officials are committed to their “start up,” or new businesses,  and existing businesses. While the company was still getting off the ground, he remembered state initiatives being imperative and providing so much more than simply access to capital.
 “Given that we were a start up company, it was advantageous for us to use state incentives as opposed to managing those costs alone,” he said.
