Virginia’s industries compete. Ours is a unique, mission
driven organization, rather than a single product or service
corporation.
Economic development and support for
existing industry are important components of the
Commonwealth’s commitment to broad-based opportunity for
its citizens. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership
(VEDP), Virginia’s Center for Innovative Technology
(CIT), the Virginia Department of Business Assistance (DBA),
and local and regional economic development organizations,
together with other organizations promoting the development of
Virginia’s workforce, are charged with making that
commitment a reality. We are a supportive member of this
economic development team.
SERVICE
Small and medium sized manufacturers
frequently lack the resources of both time and internal
capacity to obtain and implement technologies and improvements
in a cost effective manner. If they are to survive and prosper,
these manufacturers must continue to improve customer value and
reduce costs.
Our primary goal is to improve

Across the state, VPMEP’s regional
project managers work directly with clients to ensure that they
are adopting and using the latest and most efficient
technologies, processes and business practices. Our project
managers are experienced from having worked directly in
manufacturing and plant operations. Clients are provided
expertise and services tailored to their most critical needs, which
range from process improvements to business practices and
applications of information technology. Solutions are offered
through a combination of direct assistance from center staff
and approved third party consultants.
