Other changes include Gate City Town
Manager Matthew Horton who resigned to go into the private sector.
Todd Yeatts who was assistant city manager for governmental
affairs in Danville also resigned. Colonial Beach Town Manager
Brian Hooten has taken a private sector job.
There have recently been some new hires as
well. A familiar face, John L. Rowe Jr., most recently Emporia
City Manager is now the Portsmouth Deputy City Manager. Mercury
Payton, who had been assistant city manager and interim manager
became Manassas Park City
|
Manager. And Exmore on the Eastern Shore
has its first professional town manager; James G. Eichelberger,
retired from the private sector to work for the town. There are
now four other professional local government managers on the
Eastern Shore.
If you are a local government official
whose locality is without a manager or interim that is
qualified until you find a permanent solution, there are many
helpful resources, particularly firms that advertise in the
pages of the Virginia Review.
