APVA: Historic Richmond Foundation and the William
Byrd Branch of the Association for the Preservation of Virginia
Antiquities (APVA) have announced their
merger. The surviving entity will conduct business as Historic Richmond Foundation and will be part of the APVA
Preservation Virginia organization.

BEDFORD: The Bedford Area Welcome Center now operates its summer hours from 9am to 7pm
daily. According to Bedford Tourism
Director Nanci Drake, “now,
6pm is like 3pm in the afternoon for travelers. Our primary
mission is to offer the best service possible to our visitors
and being available to serve guests during the times that are
convenient to them is paramount.” Three RV/Camper
stations at the visitors center are now fully operational and offer travelers
full service electricity, water, and dumping or convenience stations
for overnight stays. The Bedford
Area Welcome Center is conveniently
located at the junction of Highway 460 and 122 and is operated
by the Bedford City and County Department
