Virginia Review Directory of State and Local Government Officials Online

            Published since 1986, the Virginia Review Directory grew from 136 pages to over 450 pages for the last print version and that still wasn’t enough to meet subscriber requests for more information. It has been clear for a while that the only way we could cope with the constantly increasing costs and longer production cycles was to produce an online publication.

            When the recession hit and advertising sales and subscription sales fell dramatically we knew we were at the crossroads. It was either go online or go out of business. We almost made it too. Unfortunately, Review Publications, Inc. ran out of money and had to close it’s doors.  A few current and former employees and a couple of volunteers decided to finish the project. The new Directory is on line now. It’s a bit rough in spots but we will clean that up as we go. Here is the information you need on the New Directory.

Update schedule - The Directory will be updated continuously, for example, the results of the November elections will be updated in January when the new elected officials take office. Other updates will occur on a rolling schedule. Rather than a 6 to 10 month delay the Directory will be as current as the information is available.

Subscriptions - Subscription prices have been dramatically reduced. A single subscription will cost $36.00 per year. About half what it cost to subscribe to the print version.

Hey, what about my prepaid subscription to the print version? – Well, good news. We intend to honor all the prepaid subscriptions. For each print directory you have paid for, you will get two online subscriptions to match each print subscription.
