Michael Karcher, PE, HFDP Receives the 2012 VSHE Presidents Award

NORFOLK, VIRGINIA  June 15, 2012– Clark Nexsen, an established leader in providing architecture, engineering, interior design, planning, and landscape architecture services announces that that the Virginia Society of Healthcare Engineers (VSHE) has awarded Michael Karcher, PE, HFDP, Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Norfolk office the 2012 Presidents Award for Outstanding Service in supporting VSHE. Michael Leslie, Director of Energy Management for L.E. Ballance Electrical Services was also a recipient of this award.

VSHE is a local chapter affiliated with the American Society for Healthcare Engineering that is dedicated to improving and enhancing our local healthcare facilities infrastructure, operations and maintenance through planning, education, cooperation, advocacy and design innovation. The 2012 award winners were honored at a ceremony during the 2012 VSHE Annual conference last month in Williamsburg, VA.

Michael Karcher, PE, HFDP has served as the program co-chair for the Hampton Roads District of VSHE since 2010. He has been instrumental in this position and has demonstrated his dedication to VSHE through his effective use of resources that brought meaningful training to the team. Michael continuously utilized his organizational skills when coordinating meeting sites, audio/visual equipment support and meals each month. This consistent effort, has by far, placed Michael as the major contributing member of the Hampton Roads Leadership in membership retention and growth.

Mr. Karcher is a professional engineer with over 34 years of experience in the field of mechanical engineering for various facilities, including healthcare. Projects completed include hospitals, medical facilities and nursing homes. Michael became a Certified Healthcare Facilities design Professional in 2007.
